Zach Finds Beauty Everywhere through Photography

You are a busy man! What activities will you be involved in on campus during your senior year?

During senior year, I will continue with my extracurricular activities. I will pursue my passion for community service by actively contributing to National Honor Society (as an officer), Key Club (as president), and Protect Our Environment Club. Additionally, I plan on playing on the varsity soccer team for a third year and practicing my guitar.

You have a passion for photography. Did you recently win some photo contests?

Yes, recently I have been involved in two different photography competitions. First, I entered the annual photography contest at Ironwood Library, where I was honored with the first place award. Also, I took part in an Instagram competition via Woodsnap and Chelsea Market NYC, in which I became one of a few different photographers who were selected to be showcased in a famous NYC market.

What is your favorite thing or place to photograph?

I have traveled to many places around the world and it is getting more difficult to decide on what I like to photograph the most. Generally, I enjoy photographing landscapes and cityscapes, but there is really no specific location in which I prefer to work. From the tropical beaches of Hawaii to the stunning Manhattan Skyline or Parisian architecture, I can find beauty in everything.

What are your plans for the future?

In the future, I hope to attend a university, hopefully in California or New York. I hope to get a degree in business, although I am not exactly set on a specific field of business as of now. I am very passionate about my studies and in my years after college graduation, I am optimistic that I will be able to be involved with a large company and use my knowledge and experience to positively contribute to the community.

Zach is a junior at Horizon Honors High School.
