Xavier’s Badminton Team Wins Fourth Straight State Championship

Xavier College Preparatory’s badminton team captured its fourth consecutive state championship title by defeating Gilbert Perry High School in the final round of the state tournament on Thursday, October 27.

The match lasted more than two-and-a-half hours, with the Gator team (seniors Tatum Clarke, Annie Kamps, Kiana Valentova Macdonald, and Emily Woodrow; juniors Maddie Reinhart and Alex Wolfson; and sophomores Misaal Irfan and Maeve Lee) ultimately emerging victorious by a 5-3 margin.

The win was Xavier’s seventh state championship title since 2004.
