Xavier Sophomore, Score Big Honors

Xavier College Preparatory sophomore Ashley Menne captured her first American Junior Golf Association championship title in July, capping a freshwoman year packed with impressive accolades.

Earlier in the school year, Ms. Menne was an instrumental force in Xavier’s 34th state championship victory, tied two other outstanding players for the individual state title, was named the 2016 Arizona Sports Awards Girls Golf Athlete of the Year and the Junior Golf Association of Arizona (JGAA) Player of the Year in her age group, and was selected to the 2016 All-Arizona Girls Golf First Team and the 2016 Rolex Junior All-America Team. Prior to her national title in July, she had won every JGAA summer tournament on the schedule.
