The Largest Animated Light Show in the World Comes to Glendale and Tempe in 2019

Nothing beats driving around looking at Christmas lights with the kids while sipping hot cocoa—well, maybe one thing beats it. How about the largest animated drive-through light show in the world, right here in Arizona?

This holiday season, grab the kiddos, pile into your SUV and experience World of Illumination. Fully synchronized to your favorite holiday music that you listen to right on your in-car stereo, this drive-through extravaganza creates an unforgettable, magical experience for people of all ages.

World of Illumination returns to Tempe Diablo Stadium for the third year in a row and debuts for the first time at Westgate Shopping Center in Glendale to give event goers a choice of location—if not both, as each event features a different light show. Both 25-minutes long covering approximately one mile, each experience features close to 2 million RGB LED lights, customizable to 16 million different shades of color. Special attractions range from a 36-foot tall animated snowman at the Glendale location to a 500-foot long super tunnel in Tempe.

“As our team at World of Illumination continues to innovate and update our shows, we always keep in mind that—at the end of the day—our job is to make people happy,” said Yakir Urman, co-founder of World of Illumination along with business partner Simon Kreisberger. “We want to help attendees get into the holiday spirit and to continue to create long-lasting memories for our audience.”

With that as their mission, World of Illumination is upping the ante this year by introducing simulated snowfall at both parks. Additionally, they’re rolling out World of Illumination 3D, giving away free pairs of 3D snowflake glasses to the first 35,000 vehicles.

“When our visitors wear these enhanced glasses, each light bulb in the park will turn into a snowflake,” adds Simon Kreisberger. “Our customers’ experiences remain at the top of our priority list every season, and we think this feature will be an amazing addition to the shows.”

World of Illumination is open nightly, including holidays, from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM on weeknights and 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM on weekends beginning November 20, 2019 through January 5, 2020. Ticket prices start at $22.99 per vehicle on weeknights and $32.99 per car on weekends and holidays, and can be purchased at

A portion of proceeds benefits the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

So, this year, when nightfall comes so early, take advantage of it—rally the fam, go through the Starbuck’s drive-through and head to World of Illumination’s one-of-a-kind Christmas wonderland.
