Swimming Success For Briana at Discover U

Tell us about your swimming at the YMCA? How long have you been there?  What types of things do you do?

The El Mirage YMCA opened in June, so we started swim lessons then.  We practice with kick boards, free style, backstroke, breast stroke, and will start learning the butterfly soon.  We swim the whole length of the pool.

You also play T-Ball. How long have you been doing that?

I have played three seasons and received a trophy for each.  I will be starting again in November.

Tell us about one of your coaches? What do you enjoy most about him/her?

My t-ball coach, Alberto.  He teaches me how to hold my bat, how to put my feet with the base and field the ball.  He teaches well.

What is your all time favorite sport to play?

Swimming.

What other hobbies do you have?

I like to draw or do art for fun, I like to play with my dog, Hannah, I like to play dress up, ride my bike and scooter.

What is one thing that most people don’t know about you?

They don’t know I can do 100 piece puzzles.

What makes Discover U a great school?

Because, it teaches me a lot, my teachers help me learn and I like being with all my friends.

Tell us about your teacher.  What makes him/her a great teacher?

My teacher is Ms. Lisa Vargas, she is nice and helpful.  She gives good lessons, and she does nice art.

Briana is a first grader at Discover U.
