“I am so impressed with Jakob Chavez. I feel like the kid wears 10 different hats here at school and is just such a great leader…I know he may not have giant championship trophies – but he’s a different kind of champ!”-Student Council Moderator
Tell us about your year as Student Council President. What do you think was your best accomplishment? Student Council is mainly about giving my school the best year possible, whether it is with a Talent Show, Buck-A-Jean days, or school dances. Our biggest accomplishment this year is probably the pep rallies we have had. It showed the sense of community at our school and everyone’s school spirit.
What has been your most memorable moment as Student Council President? My most memorable moment is having the ability to start and end each day with announcements/prayer.
Is there anything else that you are involved in at Saint Thomas Aquinas? I am currently a member of the St. Thomas Aquinas National Junior Honor Society.
You just got accepted into Brophy…tell us about that? I was accepted into Brophy with Honors, which shows how prepared every student is that leaves STA. Starting high school is a major step in life, and I am glad to know that I am well prepared.
What are you going to miss most about STA? I will miss the small community that St. Thomas has to offer.
Outside of school, what do you do for fun? Outside of school, I love to play volleyball, and hope to play in the Olympics one day.
How would your friends describe you? My friends would probably describe me as creative and outgoing.
Who/what inspires you to be a great kid? My family is my role model. I have at least one of the same qualities of everyone in my family. They make me who I am.
Do you have an idea of what you want to be when you grow up? I hope to one day be in the field of Sports Medicine.
What is the one thing you are looking forward to most about attending Brophy? I am really looking forward to the academic rigor at Brophy and the ability to play on the volleyball team there.
Jakob is currently in the 8th at Saint Thomas Aquinas School
