Stage Dreams Youth Theater Presents Mulan Jr.

In the second part of Stage Dreams Youth Theater’s Mulan Jr. interviews, vocal director Emily Freed interviewed three talented young ladies from the high school cast which rehearses Mondays, 6:00 to 8:30pm. The other casts are grades Kinder through eighth grades and have five rehearsal time options. These young performers played Mulan’s three best friends, Ling, Yao and Qian-Po. Here is what they had to say about SDYT and what they have gained from the program.

Q. How many shows have you done with SDYT?

Gracie: This is my 11th show.

Callie: This is my 10th show.

Brooklyn: This is my third show.

Q. What do you like most about Stage Dreams?
Gracie: The environment is really happy and encouraging.
Callie: The people. They’re really great.

Brooklyn: The teachers are very great!

Q. Which do you like most; Acting, singing or dancing.

Gracie: Singing because I like my voice and being able to show it off.

Callie: Singing because I feel like it shows off my best features.

Brooklyn: Acting because you can form your own character and just have fun with it.

Whether a child has been with Stage Dreams for a long time like these girls or is brand new to our program, we are so lucky to have them. Here at SDYT, everyone is family so we hope you can join us for our next production of Dear Edwina Jr. starting this February!
