Emma has been a competitive gymnast for the past two and a half years and is currently at Level 6 with Phoenix Gymnastics Academy. She also loves American Ninja Warrior and likes practicing at AZ on the Rocks and in her backyard when she can. She also plays tennis, loves soccer, arts, crafts, squishees, and loves spending time with all our pets.
Emma loves English and social studies, especially historical non-fiction stories. She is an A-student, despite practicing 16 hours a week- she’s become a pro in her time management skills over the last year!
Emma’s a great kid because she is a good friend, helpful, kind and empathetic to others, driven, funny, and has the quickest wit. SSJ has really helped bring out the best in her!
Q. What is your favorite gymnastics event?
A. My favorite gymnastics event is beam because I love the challenges that you can face throughout your career. I also love the feeling when you get a new skill because you look back and think how hard the event is and how far I have come over the years from level two to level six.
Q. Being a dedicated athlete & student must take a lot of self-discipline! Can you tell us about what drives you to balance all of your activities with school?
A. What drives me is my love for the sport and I love a good challenge. I love winning because you feel proud of yourself and your hard work and dedication. I know school is more important than the gymnastics but I still think it is so important to be well rounded and in shape.
Q. What do you do for fun with your family?
A. My family and I love to travel and be adventurous. We have all been out of the continent to different places every year and exploring different countries. We love to be active instead of staying inside staring at a screen all day. I think it is so important to stay close throughout all of our lives because we won’t be around forever.
Q. Do you have a favorite book?
A. My favorite book is definitely Song for a Whale by Lynn Kelly. I love Song for a Whale because it shows how dedicated the main character is because of her disability and how other kids can relate. I think how lucky I am to be perfectly healthy and living each day with intention.
Q. If you could travel back in time, what time period would you choose?
A. If I could choose to go back in time, I would want to go back to when the first man stepped on the moon because that was such an accomplishment for the United States and I think it is so cool and awesome to think that people have actually stepped foot on something in space.
Q. Can you tell us about your family? Pets?
A. So my family is made up of four people that I love so much. I have one sister named Madison. My mom is a doctor and my dad is also a doctor. We have two dogs, three cats, and a saltwater aquarium.
