Annie Dawson is a talented eigth grade student at Ss. Simon and Jude Cathedral School. She is a competitive golfer and has been playing for the last eight years! Her favorite course is Troon North in Scottsdale. Annie loves this course because “it’s really pretty, and a very good course. It’s very challenging and I’ve had some great rounds there!” Her handicap is seven and her best round was three over on 18 holes. Annie has played golf all over the world! She’s played in Scotland and Zimbabwe – in Zimbabwe, wart hogs were running on the course! Her dream is to play either in Ireland or South Africa. What Annie likes best about golf is that it’s an individual sport, so she doesn’t feel like she’s letting anyone down. She also loves that it’s a mental game – enjoying the challenge that golf brings. And, most importantly, golf is a sport you can play forever! Annie hopes to continue playing golf in both high school and college. When she’s not playing golf, Annie can be found playing volleyball with her school team, giving school tours at SSJ as a student ambassador, playing piano, or traveling with her family!
