Sophia and Abram Have Art Selected for Display

 

Ss. Simon and Jude Cathedral School third graders participated in Valley Metro’s 11th Annual Cool Transit STUFF third Grade Art Contest. Winners of this contest will have their artwork displayed in Valley Metro’s 2016 calendar, along with other amazing prizes! A total of 629 third grade students in 39 schools entered this contest. SSJ students Sophia Celaya and Abram Acunin had their artwork selected in this contest! Sophia’s artwork will be displayed in the calendar for the month of March and Abram received an honorable mention!

Q. Which category did you choose to enter your drawing in?

A. Sophia: I chose the “Ride With Me to Fun Places” category.

Abram: I did the “Ride With Me to Help Planet Earth” category. I drew a bus that, instead of giving out pollution, it pushed out rainbows!

Q. What did you think about winning?

A. Sophia: It was amazing! This is the first thing I’ve ever won!

Abram: I was astonished!

Q. In addition to art, what is something else you enjoy doing?

A. Abram: My favorite thing to do is draw. I really like it a lot!

Sophia: I like to do gymnastics!

Sophia and Abram are third graders at Ss. Simon and Jude Cathedral School.
