RSPS Eighth Grader Sees His Future on Ice

Rancho Solano Preparatory School eighth grade student, Jonathan Martellini, has no doubt where he wants to go upon graduating from RSPS. Playing ice hockey since the age of three, his aspirations to play on a pro team are unwavering. Jonathan’s parents first introduced him to the ice for family outings where he was noticed by a coach and has been training ever since.

Playing right wing for the Jr. Sundevils’ Bantam Major team, they have won three championships and are currently positioned for a chance at State. Being on a team of this caliber involves extensive travel and Jonathan is very conscientious about balancing ice time with study time. “I get as much homework done as possible before I leave and turn the work in so I don’t fall behind. I also get my assignments in advance for days I know I’m going to miss,” he states.

While Jonathan is determined to make the professional level he is realistic about his future. He comments, “Rancho Solano offers so many academic options that I have found my academic niche. Just in case I don’t make the pros, I can fall back on my RS education and get into a good college.”

Jonathan is an eighth grader at Rancho Solano Preparatory School.
