NJHS Students Accept the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge

Madison Traditional Academy chapter of National Junior Honor Society is a society of seventh and eighth graders who maintain exceptional grades (above a 3.5 GPA) and demonstrate exemplary character, leadership, citizenship, and service. Our ultimate goal as a chapter is to develop student leaders, serve others, and have fun while we do it!

As the ALS ice bucket blew up Facebook and Instagram, I knew it was only a limited time before some challenged me (Leah Jenks, adviser for Madison Traditional Academy NJHS). After completing the challenge myself I thought my student members of NJHS would enjoy bonding together to serve others in a fun way for a good cause. I dared them to complete the ice bucket challenge, and they rose to the task on Friday, August 29th after school. Parents, other students, and some teachers came to watch as we gathered in a huddle beneath our principal, assistant principal, and 8th grade teacher in be drenched in ice water. Additionally we did donate $100 from our student account.
