New Way Academy Student, Max, Stands Out in His Own Unique Way

New Way Academy eighth grader, Max Aossey, stands out on campus with his brilliant smile and unique sense of style. According to his teachers, Max also stands out because he demonstrates a continuous commitment to his academic and athletic success, and he is a great encouragement to his peers. He also thrives on bringing smiles and laughters to both his friends and teachers. Below, Max shares a little bit about his interests and involvement at New Way.

Q. You have a fun sense of fashion. Where do you get your style?

A. My fashion is inspired by movies that are based in the 70’s and 80’s.

Q. You have taken an interest in running. What is your best one-mile run time so far?

A. My fastest one-mile run was 5:19 minutes.

Q. Do you have a favorite subject in school?

A. My favorite subject is science. I really like science and experimenting. I find it cool to try new things with science and learn more and more about it.

Q. Your teachers compliment you on being creative. What inspires you?

A. Watching anime inspired me. I found it interesting that there would be so much life in a cartoon that was thrilling. It was just amazing to me to see how cool animation could be.

Q. You’re very involved on campus. What types of clubs and activities are involved in? Why do you enjoy getting involved at school?

A. I’m involved in leadership and soccer. I enjoy getting involved because I think it’s fun and nice to support our school’s teams. And I enjoy a good challenge.

Q. What are your favorite things to do outside of school?

A. I enjoy hanging out with my friends. I also like going for runs and hiking whenever I can.

Q. What is an interesting fact about yourself?

A. I went paragliding in Switzerland. I loved how I was so high in the air and I felt like I was flying.
