Meet Volleyball Star, Shannon

Rancho Solano Prep senior, Shannon Gurley, has verbally committed to continue her volleyball career collegiately at Washington University in St. Louis, Mo. Since beginning her education at Rancho Solano in Pre-School, Shannon has been a fixture on and off the court throughout her 14 years as a Mustang. Shannon is currently the school’s all-time leader in nearly every statistical category including kills, aces, games played, and matches won. In 2014 Shannon led the Mustangs to their first state tournament appearance in school history and was named to the AIA All-Division V 1st Team, as well as Section III Player of the Year. Shannon led all divisions in kills per set and was third among all players in total aces served. The epitome of a student-athlete, Shannon is an International Baccalaureate Diploma Candidate, and carries over a 4.1 GPA for her high school career. This year Shannon also serves as the student body Vice President.

This year, Shannon has been named AZ Central Athlete of the Week by The Arizona Republic, named MaxPreps/AVCA Arizona Volleyball Player of the Week, and the recipient of The Taco Bell Student Athlete Citizen Award.

Shannon is a senior at Rancho Solano Prep.
