Meet Eagle Scout Sergei

Q. You are passionate about the outdoors and wildlife. Tell us about why you enjoy scouting.

A. I was about 13 when I joined the scouts. In four years I have been able to achieve my goal to get to the rank of eagle scout. My favorite part of scouting is when we do activities like Scout-o-Rama, which includes games, crafts, activities, skills, and zip-line.

Q. You recently completed a comprehensive Eagle Scout project. Tell us about it.

A. For my Eagle Scout project, I built a log fence to protect the wildlife in the meadows at the rim near Camp Geronimo, just north of Payson. I wanted to protect the wildlife from the incoming traffic on the roads.

Q. In addition to scouting, you also participate in your school’s Gamers Club. What is Gamers Club?

A. The Gamers Club is where friends hangout and play cards. My friends and I usually Magic The Gathering.

Q. What are your plans for the future?

A. I want to go to a local community college for the first two years. Then I plan on attending ASU to study computer programming.

Sergei is a senior at Horizon Honors High School.
