Tell us about your recent pen essay contest win? My English teach, Mrs. Webb, asked all the middle school classes to write an essay for the Veteran’s of Foreign Wars (VFW) Essay Contest. This year’s theme was “What does patriotism mean to me?” It was a requirement for my class.
How did you feel when you heard that you on first place? My Principal, Mr. Reardon, and teacher, Mrs. Webb, announced that my essay placed at the Post and District level, but I did not know what I won. I found out when I went to the VFW banquets.
Do you want to be a writer when you grow up? If not, what do you think about being when you grow up? Being a writer is not the profession I am looking into, but writing is a good skill to have and it makes me appreciate what authors do. I love to read and I recognize that been a writer and keeping the attention of a reader is not easy.
Tell us about one of your teachers? I appreciate that my teacher, Mrs. Webb, gave all of us the opportunity to participate in this essay. I have attended three award banquets and it was amazing to me to see so many veterans that fought for our country and our freedom. I hope my generation can be as devoted to our county as they are.
What is the one thing that you love about attending STA? I have attended St. Thomas Aquinas since pre-school. I love attending STA because my teachers work hard at getting me ready for high school and I like being able to learn about my faith.
What is your favorite all time roller coaster ride? Why is this your favorite? My favorite roller coaster isCalifornia Screamin’ in Disneyland because it is fastest roller coaster in the happiest place on earth.
