Kindergartener Abigail Stays Positive Through Rough Times

Abigail fell ill during the summer a couple weeks before school began, but it wasn’t until August 9, her first day of kindergarten, that she was diagnosed with ALL (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.) What doctors originally had thought to be a virus, turned out to be something that Abigail and her family would have to battle against for the weeks and months ahead. Entering into stage three of treatment in October, Abigail has more than proved what a little fighter she is. She has responded well so far to treatment, but still has a long way to go. She’s been such a trooper through it all, always wearing a smile. She’s built a strong bond with her family, community and care team. Fellow members of the St. Thomas Aquinas community rallied in response to Abigail’s diagnosis and teamed with a local gym, Cross Fit Unwavering, in order to organize a meal train. Through tremendous support, prayers and love for Abigail and the LeClaire family, hope of her cure and future is in sight!
