Julianna Talks Explorer Club at Her School and Crafts

Julianna enjoys helping out her teachers and her classmates.  She is also very helpful in Explorer Club where she provides assistance to the three and four year old students when doing art projects. Julianna has worked very hard while at Discover U.

Q. Tell us about your participation in Discover U’s Explorer Club? What is this club all about?

A. I’m in the Explorer Club, which is the before and after care at Discover U. I like helping the younger kids with crafts. Coach Jay has made me the Junior Coach to help with activities. I love my school at Discover U.

Q. You are quite the little crafter. Tell us more about that?

A. I have always liked doing things with my hands. Right now I have really been working with colored duct tape. I make headbands, wallets, purses, and wristlets, (which are bracelets with a little bag attached).

Q. What had been your favorite craft that you have made?

A. You can see in my picture I am wearing one of my rubber band bracelets. I can make rings, bracelets, and decorated pens and pencils with the rubber bands. The rings can be used to hold ponytails to.

Q. Where do you get your ideas from?

A.I get my ideas from library books and from You- Tube on my tablet to make crafts using rubber bands and duct tape.

Q. You are also interested in cooking and baking. What is your favorite thing to make?

A. Cakes are my favorite thing  to bake. Brownies and pumpkin bars are also fun. And yummy to make when it isn’t so hot outside.

Julianna is a sixth grader at Discover U.
