Julianna Balances Volleyball and Volunteering

Julianna loves to be involved with activities, is spontaneous and always looking for the next adventure.

Q. How long have you been playing volleyball?

A. I have been playing volleyball since I was in fourth grade. Both of my older sisters played volleyball so I have grown up watching them play and practicing with them at home.

Q. You’ve gone to the Junior National Championships, tell us about that.

A. Junior National Championships was in New Orleans this past June. It was very exciting to play at a high level of competition and represent Arizona. We went in wanting to play the very best we could. It was awesome to bring home the medal for third place in the nation.

Q. What are some of your other activities?

A. I am very involved in the Phoenix Chapter of National Charity League. I love working at UMOM, St. Mary’s Food Bank and St. Vincent de Paul. I enjoy NCL because I get to do service work with my mom and meet new people.

Q. What else do you like to do for fun?

A. I love to spend time with my sisters and go to the beach!

Q. What do you want to be when you grow up?

A. I know I want to work with children and I am pretty sure I would like to be a nurse. I know the best way to blend both is to be a pediatric nurse

Julianna is an eighth grader at St. Thomas the Apostle.
