Jenny Crowned National Geographic Bee School Champion

Jenny Tran was recently crowned the 2016 National Geographic Bee School Champion! She competed against fourth-eighth graders and won the competition!

Q. What was it like winning the National Geographic Bee?

A. I was surprised a bit and shocked! This was my first time winning something.

Q. You also do a lot of volunteering. What are some of the things that you do?

A. I volunteer at the St. Mary’s Food Bank. I help customers push their carts and pack food into their cars. I also volunteer at the Huger Mercy Living Center. I help take people to and from mass in their chapel on Sundays.

Q. What are you involved with at school?

A. I am a part of the Legion of Mary group at school. We get together every Friday after school and pray the rosary together. We also discuss the readings that we have been given.

Q. What do you like to do for fun?

A. I like to read and hang out with my friends!

Q. What would you like to be when you grow up?

A. I want to be a detective or an FBI agent because they help people recover from things.

Jenny Tran is a seventh grade student at Ss. Simon and Jude Cathedral School.
