James Madison Senior, Chris, Was Made for the Stage

Chris is an amazing young man! He enjoys music and theater among many other things. He has been able to balance all of his commitments with a diagnosis of type 1 diabetes since the age of nine. Read more about Chris and what else he enjoys.

How long have you been interested in music and theater?

Chris has been interested in theater and the stage from very early on. He was acting out full Monty Python skits at the age of four, complete with accents.

What performances have you participated in?

He has performed in a number of productions including Annie, Les Miserables, Anything Goes, Music Man and Ragtime.

You are also in the drumline for James Madison, how long have you been doing that?

Chris has been in drumline for 6 years and enjoys playing the sax and singing.

How has being diagnosed with type 1 diabetes affected your involvement in these activities?

Type 1 diabetes has not slowed Chris down. And he has a great excuse to eat backstage!

What else do you like to do in your spare time?

When not performing Chris enjoys drawing and the occasional, okay, frequent, video game.

Chris is a senior at James Madison Preparatory School.
