Gold Award Girl Scout Recipient, Emma Norton

Emma Norton is a recent Gold Award Girl Scout. Her Gold Award project helped protect the Grand Canyon National Park by replacing more than twenty-year-old storage boxes, used for food and scented items. She replaced these with new and improved bins with Leave No Trace behind sticker educating visitors on how they can be responsible and help protect the park and the natural wildlife. To execute this project, she arranged helicopters to install the 70 boxes near Bright Angel, Indian Gardens, and Cottonwood campground.

She also worked directly with the park on creating social media posts to further educate visitors, and was featured in a FB video with over 8K views.

Emma Norton is a senior and a Girl Scout Arizona Cactus Pine Council Member.
