Fifth Grader, Mylie, Talks Her Lead Role in Oliver

Fifth grade student, Mylie Nguyen landed, the lead role of Oliver in the Ss. Simon and Jude Cathedral School spring production of Oliver!  This was Mylie’s first audition, and first starring role!

Q. What lead you to audition for the play?

A. At first, I didn’t want to, but my sister Ceci told me I should try it. She said I may only get a small part, but it’s good to do extra-curricular activities. I’ve gone to all of my sister’s plays. I was interested in doing it, but I never thought I’d get a main part!

Q. What was your favorite part of doing the play?

A. Learning all the dances. I really like to dance! Some dances were complicated and others were easy.

Q. Do you think you’ll keep acting?

A. Yes, but main parts are exhausting!

Q. Aside from acting, what are some other things you like to do?

A. Dance, play volleyball, and sing in the school’s Honors Choir.

Mylie Nguyen is a fifth grader at Ss. Simon and Jude Cathedral.
