A Chat with New Way Lower School Student, Brooke Rowley

New Way Academy 2nd grader, Brooke, is known for being a ray of sunshine on campus. Brooke’s teachers describe her as “a consistent role model and example in the classroom and a respectful, kind, and compassionate student. She can relate to others and is always smiling, positive and happy which becomes contagious!” Brooke brightens everyone’s day just by being herself. Below, Brooke shares a little bit about her interests and involvement at New Way.
Q. What do you like best about school? Why?

A. What I like best about school is how we can make creative things. My favorite subjects are art and STEM because they are hands on activities. My favorite thing to do at school is to paint and make crafts.

Q. What’s your favorite thing to do outside of school?

A. My favorite thing to do outside of school is to go outside and play. I also like to play games on my computer.

Q. You were recently in the play, Annie, at school. What role did you play? What did you like best about performing?

A. Recently, in the school play Annie, I played the role of Kate, an orphan. What I like best about performing is how you can be yourself and express yourself in your role as you perform and entertain others.

Q. You’re also a Jr. Bulldog Cheerleader – what makes cheerleading fun? Do you have a favorite dance or cheer?

A. Cheerleading is fun because you get to cheer for others. I like how you get to perform and be silly. My favorite cheer is “Go Big Red” because of the fun hand motions.

Q. What do you want to be when you grow up?

A. When I grow up, I want to be a vet or a teacher or a zookeeper because I like animals and working with people.

Q. What is your favorite memory from this year at New Way?

A. My favorite memory at New Way is every time I make others feel happy.
