Charolette Kohsok Rooney Learns French at International School of Arizona

How long have you been learning French?

I’ve learned French my whole life.  I started at ISA when I was two years old and now have worked my way up to 6th grade in the French track.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

I want to be a dancer and some other things.

How do you think being bilingual will help you in the future?

I think it will open a lot of opportunities for me, both for jobs and for traveling.  I think it is really cool to go to a new place and be able to speak the same language as everyone else.

Do you remember learning French to be a challenge or did it just kind of happen?

It just happened.  I don’t remember ever having to really work at it.  Being around it so much when I was little helped it seem natural.  Plus, they say the earlier you learn it the better!

How do you think going to school after the International School of Arizona will be?

I think I will be just fine.  I actually want to go to high school in France, so it will be really similar to school here.  I would also like to go to college in Ireland.

Charlotte Kohsok Rooney is in the 6th Grade at International School of Arizona
