Bethany Christian School Celebrates 23 Years

Bethany Christian School in Tempe just kicked off its 23rd school year in early August. The school prides itself on the community it’s built over the last two decades and the family environment that everyone notices as soon as they step onto the campus.

Chrystal Gellner, a current parent at Bethany Christian School, knows that feeling all too well. Before her two sons attended Bethany, she worked at the school as the Extended Care Assistant Director during a trying time in her life.

During my time at Bethany, my husband’s mom died of cancer, I had a miscarriage, and I carried a baby girl and boy on separate occasions with Potter’s Syndrome, until we lost them both shortly after birth. Through the dark seasons, the Bethany family brought meals, loved on me and my family, and allowed me to continue to work if I wanted. I was encouraged, prayed for, and given the grace to run to the bathroom to cry if I needed to. Although there were some very difficult times, I also worked at Bethany through one of our happiest moments as well, the pregnancy and birth of our little miracle boy, Micah. Everyone at Bethany rejoiced and celebrated our blessing along with us. This is the heart of the school that we love.”

Over the years, the heartbeat of the school has remained the same. The teachers and staff genuinely care about us, our children, their growing relationships with Christ, and of course, their education. The biggest attribute for us is that this is a community that desires deeply for our children to know and understand who Christ is and His perfect love for them. The staff are so creative and giving of their time! This is not just a school to us; it is a sweet community.”

It’s sure to be an exciting year at Bethany Christian School as a new STEM Lab is being implemented for all students to have the opportunity to experience firsthand turning ideas into reality in the problem-solving process. If you’re interested in learning more about a private, Christian education in a family-focused environment, contact the school today to set up a tour by calling (480) 752-8993 or emailing info@bethanychristianschool.org. Enrollment is open throughout the school year in Kindergarten through eighth grade.
