Q. Tell us about yourself and your involvement in Career and Technical Education at Buckeye Union High School.
A. I have been in two CTE classes, such as, auto shop and sports medicine. I’ve done one year of auto, and I am currently involved in my third year of sport medicine.
Q. What other activities are you involved in at BUHS?
A. During my first year as a student at Buckeye, I assisted in set up for theatrical production, and I decided to join softball and continued through to my sophomore year. That same year was the first time I’d been in HOSA. My junior year I became vice president of HOSA and spent some time being a Buckeye cheerleader, as well. As a senior, I am now the president of Buckeye HOSA, and I’m still involved in sports medicine classes like the one I’m doing now – sports medicine internship.
Q. What do you aspire to be when you grow up?
A. I aim to be a registered nurse at a children’s hospital or work in a pediatric facility.
Q. How has your CTE program helped you in your career choice?
A. The program of sports medicine has inspired me greatly. I’ve learned to do hands-on workshops and have experienced the medical field one on one.
Q. What are your plans after graduation?
A. My plans are to enlist in the Navy to join the Navy Nurse Corps personnel.
Q. What is your favorite thing about your school?
A. My favorite part of BUHS would be in the halls where the sports medicine CTE class is.
Q. Tell us about a great teacher that you have (past or present).
A. The health field wouldn’t have been opened up to me if it weren’t for Jeffrey Jankowski. He is my sports medicine course teacher and HOSA advisor. He has positively influenced my career choice. I am very grateful to have had him as my trainer.
Q. What is your favorite subject in school?
A. My favorite subject is psychology because of the new things I learn every day. It interests me a great deal and connects me to other branches of the medical world.
